Born in northern Illinois, Ann was introduced to both classical and folk music at an early age. She started playing the flute at age 9, and soon discovered a love of singing as well. Some of her early influences include Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell.

Ann started writing poetry in her teens, which soon turned into songwriting. In 1982, she went to Rhinebeck, N.Y. to study music and singing with "The Paul Winter Consort", where she performed an original song in front of a live audience for the first time, on stage at the Omega Institute.

Ann was raised a Unitarian/Universalist , and has been on a spiritual quest since she can remember. Her songs and poetry have always reflected this search. In Feb. 1999, a friend introduced her to his spiritual teacher, Gangaji, and there was an instant recognition of the Truth she had been seeking. She could hear her own heart speak! She was inspired and started writing songs and poems for Gangaji, most of which she performed on stage at her retreats over the next few years. Thus, the collection called "True Songs" was born!

Music as a healing force

Ann is a licensed massage therapist since 1984, and uses music consciously to create a peaceful healing environment. She has performed for various functions such as parties, workshops and church services, and is also interested in sharing her music and presence with those in transition. Her music ranges from meditative to contemporary: singing harmonies with her crystal singing bowls, playing beautiful flute solos, and singing her original spiritual folk songs, accompanying herself on the guitar
